Aquacel Extra, a sterile hydrofiber dressing is conformable and highly absorbent, which transforms into a soft gel, that maintains a moist environment to help healing and can be used for leg ulcers, diabetic ulcers and pressure ulcers, lacerations, and partial thickness burns and post operative wounds.

Indications
Suitable on weeping wounds, including partial thickness burns, leg, pressure and diabetic foot ulcers, abrasions and lacerations.

Contraindications
Aquacel Extra Hydrofiber dressing should not be used if sensitive to the dressing or who have had an allergic reaction to the components.

Directions

1. For exuding wounds (excluding burns).
2. Clean and dry the wound area.
3. when applying the aquacel extra, the dressing should overlap 1cm onto skin surrounding the wound.
4. Apply dressing and cover with a moisture retentive dressing.
5. All wounds should be inspected frequently.

1. Dry wounds.
2. Place Aquacel Extra on the wound and wet with sterile water or saline over the wound area only.
3. Cover the dressing with a moisture retentive dressing such as DuoDerm extra thin.

1. Partial thickness burns.
2. Clean the wound area.
3. The Aquacel Extra should overlap at least 5cm onto the skin surrounding the burn.
4. The Aquacel Extra should be covered loosely with a sterile woven gauze pad and appropriately secured, Check after 4 days, if the dressing is saturated then replacement of dressing may require .
