Kerracel Gelling Fiber dressing 4" x 4" (10 cm x 10 cm) is for exuding wounds. A sterile, soft, and highly absorbent single-use non-woven dressing that forms a gel for moist wound healing.

Indication
Suitable for moderate weeping wounds including leg, pressure and diabetic foot ulcers, superficial and partial thickness burns and control bleeding from superficial wounds.
Kerracel is suitable for use under compression bandages.
Contraindication
If you have known hypersensitivity or allergy to the ingredient carboxymethylcellulose, you should not use Kerracel dressings.

Using Kerracel dressing

• Clean the wound according to local protocols.
• Select the appropriate dressing size so the dressing overlaps the wound by 1cm for exuding wound, 5cm for partial thickness burns
• Open the pack and lay the sterile dressing onto the wound
• Apply the dressing to the wound and cover with an appropriate second dressing

Frequency of change.
Check the dressing at regular intervals and change according to the clinical condition of the wound. If the wound deteriorates, discontinue use and contact your healthcare professional.
Kerracel dressing can be left in place for up to seven days, however this depends upon the wounds condition and the skin around the peri-wound area.
If the dressing does not come away easily at the time of changing, apply saline to the dressing and gently remove.
