Aquacel Ag Hydrofiber with Silver, is a sterile, soft non-woven dressing which is highly absorbent. The absorbed fluid transforms the dressing into a soft cohesive gel which conforms to the wounds surface and the silver helps kill a broad spectrum of bacteria in the wound and creates an antimicrobial environment to aid healing.

Indications

• Diabetic foot ulcers, leg ulcers and pressure ulcers.
• partial thickness burns (second degree)
• wounds prone to bleeding
• wounds at risk of infection

Contraindications
Aquacel Ag should not be used if sensitive to or have had an allergic reaction to silver or sodium carboxymethylcellulose.

Precautions
Single use only dressing and should never be re-used. Re-use of dressing may lead to increased risk of infection or cross contamination. Do not use if the packet is damaged or already open.

Directions for use

1. Clean and dry the wound area
2. when applying the Aquacel Ag, the dressing should overlap 1cm onto the skin surrounding the wound
3. Aquacel Ag is recommended to used with a moisture retentive cover dressing such as DuoDerm Extra Thin

Partial Thickness Burns

1. Gently clean and dry the burn area
2. Aquacel Ag should overlap at least 5cm surrounding the burn
3. Aquacel Ag dressing should be covered with a sterile absorbent pad and secured with medical tape or a retention bandage

Dry wounds

1. Place Aquacel Ag on the wound and wet with sterile water or saline over the wound area only
2. Cover the dressing with a moisture retentive dressing such as DuoDerm Extra Thin
