Actilite dressings helps to protect wounds and promote healing while allowing exceed fluid to easily pass through to the secondary absorbent dressing.
Ideal for granulating (showing new tissue growth) and epithelialising (final healing stage) wounds, Actilite helps ensure a low moisture level on the wounds surface to avoid the softening & damage of new healthy skin. The viscose net dressing is coated with 99% medical-grade Manuka Honey & 1% Manuka oil providing an antibacterial effect to help protect the wound from infection. Manuka oil also helps promote new cell growth which can aid in the reduction of scars and after marks appearance.

Suitable for use on wounds such as:
Superficial wounds (cuts and abrasions) • Pressure ulcers • Leg ulcers • Surgical wounds • Burns • Infected wounds • Graft & donor sites.

Directions for Use:
Carefully clean the wound and gently dry the surrounding skin.
Remove the dressing from the packaging and please onto the wounds surace (there is no right side). If needed dressing may be cut or placed side-by-side to cover the wound.
Apply an appropriate absodent secondary dressing on top.

This dressing may be left for up to 7 days however, will become less effective as the honey is diluted by wound exudates. To maintain effectiveness it is recommended that the dressing is changed when the colour changes significantly.

Due to the honey in this dressing it may become harder at cold temperatures and more malleable in warmer temperatures. If hard warm between hands, if too soft place in a cold place such as a fridge for a few minutes.

Cautions:

• Do not use if allergic to bee venom, bee products or essential oils.
• Contains glucose, if diabetic monitor levels.
• If pain continues unabated after application discontinue use and clean the wound with a saline solution.
• Single use dressing, do not re-use.
