Voltarol Back & Muscle Pain Relief 1.16% Gel contains the active substance diclofenac which belongs to the group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS). Voltarol Emulgel is specially formulated for rubbing into the skin and is used to relieve pain and reduce inflammation and swelling in painful conditions affecting the joints and muscles. Voltarol Emulgel P can be used to treat:

• Muscle and joint injuries (e.g. sprains, strains, bruises, backache and sports injuries.
• Tendonitis (e.g.tennis elbow).
• Mild arthritis (symptoms of mild arthritis include joint pain at rest, joint pain on movement, joint swelling or stiffness (after sleep or long rest).
• Non-greasy and non-staining.

Directions for Use:
Adults: Use an amount the size of a one penny or two penny piece and rub gently into the skin over the affected area.
Apply 3 - 4 times daily.
Do not use Voltarol Osteoarthritis Gel for more than 14 days, unless longer treatment is recommended by a doctor.
The Voltarol gel can be applied to a maximum of two joints (such as your knees and elbows).
If you need to apply the gel to more than two joints , consult your doctor.
Wash hands after use (unless they are the site being treated).
Do not use on children under 14 years of age.
If symptoms persist for more than 7 days, consult your doctor.
Do not use more than 112g in one week.

Caution:
Do not use if you are allergic to, or ever had an asthma attack, wheezing, urticaria (hives) or a runny nose after taking aspirin or other NSAID pain/anti-inflammatory medicine, or if you are sensitive to diclofenac or any other ingredient of the gel.
Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Do not use if you are taking oral diclofenac, aspirin, ibuprofen or other NSAID medicines.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using if you suffer from asthma, have ever had a stomach or duodenal ulcer, or are taking any prescribed medicines.
Do not apply to cuts, wounds, sunburned skin or other areas where the skin is abnormal, or near the eyes or nasal area.
Do not cover with a bandage or a plaster.
When using for the first time, reverse the cap, engage with the nozzle, twist and remove the seal from the tube.
Do not use if the seal is broken.
