Vicks VapoRub is an ointment which is used to relieve nasal catarrh, congestion, sore throat and coughs due to colds.
- Can be used as a rub or with hot water for an inhalant.
- Contains Menthol and Camphor to calm a cough.
- Eucalyptus and menthol to relieve nose congestion and catarrh.
Directions:
Adults:
Rub Vicks VapoRub liberally on the chest, throat and back. Rub in well over the whole area and leave nightclothes loose for easy inhalation.
Or:
Place hot (not boiling) water in a suitable bowl for inhalation. Melt two teaspoons of VapoRub into the bowl of hot water and inhale the vapours.
Caution: never re-heat the mixture or heat Vaporub in microwave.
Children (over 2 years):
Apply lightly to chest and back. Rub gently and leave clothes loose for easy inhalation.
Warnings:
Do not use Vicks VapoRub:
if you are allergic to any of the actives or other ingredients
on children under 2 years
as an inhalation for children under 12 years
on broken skin, wounds or mucous membranes
swallow or apply directly onto the nostrils, eyes, mouth or face
Do not bandage tightly.
Do not use with heat wrap.
Take special care with Vicks VapoRub
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you:
have a history of airway disease or asthma
Pregnancy and breast-feeding:
If you are pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using Vicks VapoRub. Vicks VapoRub should not be used on the mother's chest during breastfeeding as there is a very low chance that the baby's breathing may be affected.
Ingredients:
Levomenthol, Camphor, Eucalyptus oil, Turpentine oil, Thymol, Cedarwood oil and White soft Paraffin.
