Agnus Castus, also known as vitex or chaste tree, this tincture is useful for premenstrual syndrome and associated conditions.

Premenstrual Syndrome (aka. Premenstrual Tension) is caused by an imbalance of female sex hormones oestrogen and progesterone. It is believed that high levels of prolactin, or a sensitivity to it, also may affect PMS. A.Vogel Agnus Castus balances female sex hormones, increasing progesterone levels and reducing prolactin. Other hormonal links to menstruation are painful periods, heavy bleeding, and tender breasts. Agnus Castus acts on the pituitary gland, triggering a reaction that leads to the production of progesterone. This reduces these menstrual problems.

Altering the levels of prolactin in the body often helps with conception. This makes Agnus Castus a popular supplement for infertility. This altered hormonal activity can also benefit some who suffer from fibroids or endometriosis. Lastly, Agnus Castus is beneficial in treating hormonal acne in both men and women.

Directions for use:
Adults: 15-20 drops in a little water twice daily.
Children: This product is not recommended for children under 18.

Do not use if you:
have a pituitary disorder, are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, breastfeeding, taking dopamine agonists or antagonists, oestrogen's or anti-oestrogen's
No one taking hormonal medication, including hormonal contraceptives, should take herbs that rebalance hormones. Anyone with a pituitary disorder should NOT self-medicate.

If you would prefer less alcoholic content, then add your tincture dose to boiling water. Leave to stand for a few minutes to allow the alcohol to evaporate.
