Provides symptomatic relief from all allergic conditions responsive to antihistamines including nettle rash, hives, heat rash, prickly heat; reactions to food, medicines or insect bites and stings; hay fever.

Piriton Tablets contain an antihistamine. Histamine is a chemical released into the body during an allergic reaction. It causes itching and inflammation. Piriton Tabtets block the effects of histamine, calming down the body's allergic reaction and starting to relieve the symptoms within half an hour. They also contain lactose, maize starch, magnesium stearate and yellow iron oxide (E172).
Piriton Tablets are used to treat allergies. They relieve the itchiness, redness, swelling, tenderness and irritation associated with many skin problems. You can take Piriton Tablets for things like nettle rash, hives, heat rash, prickly heat, dermatitis, or reactions to food, food additives or medicines, or to insect bites or stings.
Piriton Tablets also relieve the sneezing and itchy, watery eyes and nose associated with hayfever.
Piriton Tablets can also be used to calm the itchy rash of chickenpox.
Ingredients:
Each tablet contains Chlorphenamine Maleate 4 mg.
Other ingredients Lactose, maize starch, yellow iron oxide (E 172), magnesium stearate and water.

You are allergic to any of the ingredients.
You have taken monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) antidepressant treatment in the past 14 days.
You have epilepsy, glaucoma, an enlarged prostate, an overactive thyroid, very high blood pressure, heart, liver or chest disease.
You are taking drugs to treat anxiety or help you to sleep.
You are taking any medicine containing phenytoin for epilepsy.
Adults:
Take one tablet every four to six hours (maximum 6 tablets in 24 hours).
Children aged 6-12:
Half a tablet every four to six hours (maximum 6 halves in 24 hours).
Not recommended for children under 6 years of age.
