Gaviscon Advance Mint Chewable Tablets is a convenient way to provide long-lasting relief (up to 4 hours) from acid reflux, heartburn and indigestion. Gaviscon Advance works by forming a protective barrier to help prevent stomach acid from entering the oesophagus (food pipe).

Directions for Use:
Please carefully read peelable label leaflet (3 layers) before use.
Suitable for adults, elderly and children over 12 years old.
Take 1-2 tablets after meals and at bedtime, or as directed by your doctor/pharmacist.
Chew tablets thoroughly before swallowing and wait at least 2 hours between taking any other mediation.
If symptoms persist for longer than 7 days consult your doctor. As with all medicines, treatment should be as short as possible.

Consult your doctor before taking this medication if you:

• Are on a potassium, sodium or calcium restricted diet.
• Suffer from heart or kidney disease.
• Are taking diuretics (water tablets) for high blood pressure as the salt content can affect the above diseases and effect of diuretics.
• Need four or more daily doses for a prolonged period, especially if you have heart failure.

Cautions:

• Not suitable for children under 12 year old.
• Do not take if you are allergic to any of the listed ingredients.
• If you experience any adverse side effects contact your doctor with this medication.
• Keep out of sight and reach of children.
• Do not store above 30°C.
• Dispose of any unused medication at your local pharmacy.

Contents to be taken into consideration:

• Contains 4.5mg of aspartame (E951) per tablet (a source of phenylalanine). May be harmful of you have phenylketonuria (PUK).
• Contains 1.0 mmol calcium and 1.01 mmol potassium per tablet; to be taken into consideration for patients with reduced kidney function or on a controlled potassium diet.
• Contains 53.22 mg sodium, equivalent to 2.7% of the recommended maximum daily dietary intake for adults. Recommended maximum daily dose contains 425.76 mg sodium, 21.28% of the recommended maximum daily dietary intake for adults.
