No synthetic sponge can duplicate the natural feeling of sea sponge against delicate skin or even hold the amount of water that a natural sponge can hold. The natural sponge creates a beautifully thick lather quickly, with any type of soap; liquid or bar. Sea sponges are far more durable and last much longer than a synthetic sponge because they are more resistant to abrasion due to their natural habitat.

The Beaming Baby Natural Sea Sponges are organically grown and sustainably harvested from the sea surrounding the Greek Islands. When the sponges are first harvested from the sea they are dark brown in colour. Some sponges undergo an oxygen bleaching process that reveals the yellow colour. This sponge has not been treated chemically. It will retain it's natural colour longer and is reported to last slightly longer.

Caring for your Sponge:

Beaming Baby recommend washing your natural sponge regularly to prevent soap build-up. Rinse the natural sponge under running cold water. Soak the sponge in a small bowl filled with 2 tablespoons of vinegar to each litre of water. Leave the sea sponge to soak for 2 hours. Remove it from the bowl and gently shake to remove excess liquid. Lay out to dry on a clean surface, such as the bathtub.
